When you look at the ‘before’ pictures, you cannot believe this is the same house! What a difference new windows, new siding, and a new landscape provide. The natural vegetation provides a perfect backdrop to this outstanding 'wrap-around' backyard, yet a secluded path keeps you connected with your neighbors. A cozy paver patio at the center of the lot allows you to be a part of the backyard while enjoying an evening fire with an after dinner cordial and listening to the soft sounds of running water.
One of our bigger challenges on this property was the septic system, which requires a large open area for it to 'breathe'. No vegetation is allowed within this area. Who wants to look at a field of wash gravel in the middle of their backyard? Our solution: give the illusion that 'a river runs through it'. Two 'pondless' waterfall systems were installed to either side of the 'breather', turning an eyesore into a focal point of the backyard. I hope you had a chance to take a closer look at this fun feature.
Thank you again for visiting us and for the opportunity to provide a sampling of what the Plandscape team can offer. Please give us a call for your next outdoor project.
Enjoy the tour,

Thank you for visiting us at home #13 in St. Charles on the Chicago Luxury Home Tour and for your interest in Plandscape, Inc., a full service landscape contractor.
Special appreciation goes to Michael, Jeff and Rae of Michael Vincent Homes for the opportunity to design and install the exquisite outdoor setting at this beautiful renovated home.
Unique to the Luxury Home Tour this year is this complete rehab of this 30 year-old ranch christened "The Aspen". Every portion of this house was renovated - inside and out. A third garage/master bedroom was added, a gable roof entry and an entire new landscape.
In the backyard, the only item to remain since this project started in January is the Hawthorn tree within the patio, which provides fabulous, filtered shade. Rotten timber walls were replaced with natural stone, a dated deck was removed and levels were created to allow more usable space and better access to an open, yet private backyard.
