It is imperative a homeowner and builder have a good relationship. A builder must know how to make the clients dreams a reality. A builder must help guide the homeowner(s) through certain decisions, with keeping in mind the home constructed is for this one family, and their needs. In the end, this is what makes for a successful remodel project that will be enjoyed for years to come. The home christened "The Aspen" that I designed and remodeled was showcased in the 2008 Chicago Luxury Home Tour and now in the 2009 Geater Chicago Home Tour. This type of detailed quality shows that a tired old home can be transformed into a beautiful dream home.

With remodeling a home being the choice of most during these current economic times, Michael Vincent Homes has taken a pro-active role of perfecting remodeling. No project is too big or too small. Having done six remodel projects in the last year and my last new construction home was built at the end of 2007, I have been able to meet the needs of clients through remodeling. Some people remodel due to the love of their neighborhoods, some remodel due to not being able to sell their current home and buy new, some remodel due to enjoying their home but needing more space and some just want their homes updated. Which ever the case may be I want people to understand you can receive great results remodeling your home, and spend around 10%-30% less money than building new.

The challenges of a remodel is finding the way to turn a family's current home into there dream home without sacrificing design, curb appeal, and usability. I love this part about remodeling. It is easier to start with a blank canvas (empty lot) and build your dream home, than it is to take a current home and add to it to make it your dream home. There are a lot more obstacles to encounter in remodeling, therefore, it is important to have a builder that has great vision and knowledge of construction. This is where I come in. First, I set up a meeting with the homeowner(s), and then together come up with the important criteria that the homeowners are looking for in their dream home. A budget is established, and their dreams become reality.
